It’s been quite a while since I last wrote a post here and I apologize. 🙁
This time I will write a mini post trying to show the process I follow when painting a small watercolor.
Continue to read this ….
The first thing I did was to use the frame I bought to draw the oval shape I will be using as the edges of my drawing.
Then, I drew the desired design inside the oval with a graphite pencil.
The next thing I do, is to paint with just plain water the sky (avoiding the stars)… After I make sure the paper is still wet, I put the color I chose, in this case, navy blue. Since the paper was really wet, the watercolor just flows with the water and there are no strokes marks made by the brush. 🙂 (And this is exactly what I wanted).
The next thing I do is to paint the stars. This time, I didn’t want to be precise with the watercolor.
After the watercolor is dry, I start tracing my drawing with black ink.
Once I finish tracing the drawing with ink, I wait for the ink to dry and then paint the inked drawing with watercolor. 🙂
I use a hair dryer to accelerate the process he he…
The final result:
I hope you enjoyed this mini post! ^^
Caro.
